Apple Fritters
INGREDIENTS
(Makes 6 servings)
- 3 organic Elstar apples
- 125 g caster sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 150 g self-raising flour
- 120 ml Friendly vikings Oat drink Natural
- 3 tbsp applesauce
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Coconut blossom sugar
- Apple corer
- Large pan or deep fryer
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1. Peel the apples and remove the core with the apple corer. Cut the apple into large slices.
2. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon in a deep plate. Place the apple slices in it and set the plate aside to absorb the sugar mixture for the apples.
3. Place the flour with the oat drink, apple sauce, vanilla extract and salt in a large bowl and mix well into a batter.
4. Heat the oil in the pan or in the deep fryer to 190 °C.
5. Dip the apple slices in the batter and fry for about five minutes, turning halfway through so that both sides turn a nice golden brown.
6. Drain the fritters on kitchen paper and serve with coconut blossom sugar.
